To be honest I liked Frasier more on the Frasier show. He was good on Cheers but his full potential was well exploited on Frasier.

If you've ever seen the excellent science-fiction series "Babylon 5", the character "Twitch" here plays an incredible antagonist. Totally different character, yet with similar characteristics. Both great characters, played by an excellent actor, deserving of their own spin-offs if I may be so bold.

@6:28 when Sam mentions "John Cougar Mellencamp" was that a wink and a nod (by the writers) to the song "Jack and Diane". Whenever I heard that song back in 1982 the lyrics made me think of Sam and Diane. Or was it a pure coincidence that this episode referenced this singer?

The last word of this clip shows that the word "guys" has always been acceptable when talking to a group of men and women. The wrong pronouns were never offensive back then.

Losing Coach was Bad, but Woody fixed it. Diane was Superb, her leaving ? W.T.F., Enter Rebecca... BOA!!!, as Sam said meeting her. Actually became funnier, R.I.P. Kirstie.

Woody beating Frasier at Chess was funny, every episode funny.

Funny enough while the show originally meant Frasier's line about his ancestors to mean he came from money, considering what we know from the Frasier TV show it seems more like we are seeing the mask slip just a little bit only for his insecurities to get the better of him and add the "small family fortune" bit as a cover. Just goes to show a good writer can make retcons work without actually changing canon.

The show went downhill for me post-season 5. I found Diane more entertaining than Rebecca. The toxic chemistry between her and Sam was really enjoyable. It wasn't the same after the death of Coach and the departure of Diane. Rebecca was just...meh.

One of the best sitcoms of all time.
